Loving our bodies as girls is challenging when we live in a world that’s filled with peer pressure and social expectations to look a certain way. In this episode, we explore positive body image and what it looks like to love our bodies and be proud of who and all that we are.

Learning outcomes:

It is expected that students will:

  • Be more aware of the false realities built and reinforced by social media and marketing agencies.
  • Combat negative self-talk by being kind to themselves and their bodies.
  • Recognize that their self-worth does not come from their physical appearance.

Lesson includes:

  • 10 minute workshop video 
  • Warm-up, Core Lesson, and Reinforcement Activities
  • Reflection and discussion questions such as:
    • How does social media, advertisements, and peer pressure play a role in how you see yourself?
    • What does it look like to love your body and be comfortable in it?
