We can learn about ourselves and the culture we grew up in by understanding cultural elements of Indigenous traditions. Culture helps to shape our understanding of ourselves, others and the world around us.

• Be able to compare this Indigenous celebration with celebrations in their own culture.
• Identify ways in which the relationships they have with self translates to relationships with others and the environment.
• Create unique totem poles, incorporating symbols that represent important aspects of their lives.
• Embrace their own personal story and understand how it's valuable.
