Most of us know that bullying is bad. However, sometimes we forget that being a bystander when someone is being bullied is harmful too. This lesson teaches students why it’s important to speak up when someone is being bullied and reminds them to be courageous enough to do the right thing.

Grade level: K - 2

Lesson Duration: 35 min + Optional Extension Activity (10 min)

Learning Outcomes:

It is expected that students will:

  • Recognize what it looks like to be a bully.
  • Identify ways that they can help someone that is being bullied.
  • Demonstrate the value of treating people kindly so that no one feels bullied.
