Living in community is a necessity for every individual. In this lesson students will learn and discuss the value of community and will have the opportunity to reflect on the important work some of the members in their own community are doing.

Grade level: 6 - 8

It is expected that students will:

• Recognize the importance of living in community and why it is so helpful.
• Identify the ways that their community members help to make their lives easier and better.
• Demonstrate an appreciation for the community around them.
