While not itself a mental illness, self-harm often accompanies one, and so it’s important to talk about it. This lesson goes through what self-harm is, some theoretical reasons a person might have for doing it and how to combat self-harming tendencies.

Learning outcomes:
It is expected that students will:
- Have a deeper understanding of what can lead to self-harm and what it’s like for those struggling with it.
- Know that there is hope and that with time and support from others it is possible to break the habit of self-harming.

- Reflection and discussion questions such as:
