Everyone can be a leader, but not everyone should be. Leadership is a tremendous responsibility and, in this episode, we talk about why not everyone should step into it.

Learning Outcomes:

It is expected that students will:

  • View leadership as a serious responsibility that is rooted in serving others.
  • Analyze whether or not they are ready to accept the responsibility of leadership.
  • Challenge the idea that leadership is primarily about power

Lesson includes:

  • 3 minute workshop video and corresponding Follow Along Sheet (printable)
  • Warm-up, Core Lesson, and Reinforcement Activities
  • Reflection and discussion questions such as:
    • Do you agree that a person’s influence must, overall, be considered morally positive for them to be considered a leader?
    • What happens when someone chooses to take all the rights of leadership but rejects all of the responsibilities that come with it?
