Ancestral Knowledge - Lesson Plan Bundle (4 Lesson Plans)

Education unit for Grades 6-8 on Indigenous Education. This unit gives students an opportunity to learn about Indigenous Cultural elements like powwows, talking sticks and totem poles. 

Grades level: 6-8

• Explain the significance of the restored powwow for the Indigenous people.
• Identify ways in which the relationships they have with self translates to relationships with others
• Create unique totem poles, incorporating symbols that represent important aspects of their lives.
• Own their story and share it wisely within identified safe sharing spaces.
