Understanding Myself - Lesson Plan Bundle (4 Lesson Plans)

There are so many different pieces that make up who we are as individuals and that make us unique. In this unit students will develop a deeper understanding of themselves by taking a closer look at some of those key pieces, including their values, strengths and weaknesses, and their intelligence.

Grade Level: 6-8

Learning outcomes:

It is expected that students will: 

• Recognize that only they know everything about their own personal identity.
• Identify some of the parts that make up a personal identity.
• Identify the things that they value the most.
• Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of people with different values.
• Identify their own strengths and weaknesses.
• Demonstrate an understanding that their strengths and weaknesses are often tied together.
• Recognize that being smart can look different in different people.
• Identify what kind of intelligent they are.
• Demonstrate an appreciation for people with different kinds of intelligences
