Lesson Plan 1: Feelings & Emotions

The words “feelings” and “emotions” are often used interchangeably; however, there is a difference between the two. This lesson teaches students how to differentiate between their feelings and emotions and will help them have a better understanding of their own emotions as they arise. 

Grade level: 6 - 8

Lesson Duration: 60 min + Optional Extension Activity (20 min)

It is expected that students will:

•  Recognize that feelings and emotions are different.
• Identify what feelings and emotions are.
• Demonstrate the ability to use their feelings to decipher their emotions.
