From birthday parties, to community parades and family reunions, there are many ways to celebrate and gather with your family and community. In Indigenous bands, powwows are a way to share culture, celebrate life, perform art and show gratitude.

• Be able to describe a powwow.
• Explain and name the four key elements of the powwow.
• Compare this Indigenous celebration with celebrations in their own culture.
