There are a handful of events in every community that gather members together to celebrate, participate in traditions and perform art. For Indigenous communities, this important event is called the powwow.

It is expected that students will:

  • Describe traditional and competitive powwows.
  • Identify the four key elements of a powwow.
  • Explain the significance of the restored powwow for the Indigenous people
