Personal Growth Guide - Lesson Plan Bundle (4 Lesson Plans)

Personal Growth is an ongoing journey. This unit will serve as a guide to students on the road to self-improvement by teaching the importance of having a growth mindset and how to set SMART goals, as well as by covering communication skills and the qualities of a good leader. 

Grade Level: 6-8

Lesson Plan Durations: 45-60 mins each

Learning outcomes:

It is expected that students will: 

• Recognize that they can choose to have a growth or fixed mindset.
• Identify examples of both a growth and fixed mindset.
• Identify what hopes, dreams and goals they have.
• Demonstrate the understanding of how to set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-based goals.
• Recognize that there are verbal and nonverbal types of communication.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of both verbal and nonverbal communication.
  
• Identify qualities that good leaders have.
• Demonstrate an understanding of what a good leader is and is not.
