Social Emotional Learning Unit

Feelings can be strange, complicated, and overwhelming at times. In this unit, students will learn how to identify the emotions they go through, what to do when their feelings feel too big, and what it means to experience empathy. Students will receive tips and tools to help them be in touch with their emotions and feel their feelings.

Mental Health Unit

We are our best selves when our brains and bodies are working together to stay healthy. In order to keep our brains and bodies healthy it is important to know our priorities and identify and practice coping strategies that help us maintain a positive mindset.

Relationships Unit

What does it mean to be a good friend? In this unit, students will get to explore this important question through interactive lessons about being kind, dealing with people we don’t get along with, sharing with others, and making sure nobody feels left out.

Personal Growth & Development Unit

Every human being is full of purpose and potential. Throughout this unit, students will be introduced to practical tools that will help them see and reach their own potential. This includes learning how to set realistic goals, be a good leader, communicate effectively, and understanding that actions speak louder than words.

Body Image Unit

Body image is both mental and emotional. It is not just about what you see in the mirror, it is also about how you feel about your body when you look in the mirror. Having a healthy body image means that you truly accept yourself as you are right now. You don’t need to change in order to accept yourself.

Living in Community Unit

Our communities impact who we become. In this unit students will learn what it means to live in community by additionally learning how to appreciate others, value diversity, solve problems, and love their family.

Personal Identity Unit

Knowing who we are helps us live up to our true selves. In this unit, students will get to explore their unique identity by identifying who they are, what they value, and what they’re good at, while learning that they are valuable just as they are.

Physical Health & Wellness Unit

Our bodies are amazing. In this unit, students will learn about the brilliant ways that their body functions and takes care of them, while learning how they can take care of their bodies in return through eating healthy, being active, and listening to their body’s needs.

Nutrition Unit

Healthy food provides us with enjoyment, comfort, and energy; however, our relationship with food impacts what, how, and why we eat. Unhealthy food impacts not only our physical health but our mental health as well. In this unit students will learn how to eat a variety of healthful foods to satisfy their hunger, nurture their mental well-being, help their bodies grow, and celebrate their culture and community.

Safety Unit

Staying safe often requires us to be aware of the risks and aware of our surroundings. In this unit, students will gain practical knowledge and skills regarding their own personal safety through lessons about when to share a secret, how to stay safe on the internet, and how to deal with bullying.
